Architecture and Design Scotland: Appointment of 4 Board Members

Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint 4 new members to the Board of Architecture and Design Scotland (A&DS).

We are interested to hear from Architects and other related professions as well as those with significant experience of communications, media or marketing as we look to build a new team to drive A&DS forward.

About A&DS

A&DS's role is to champion design and promote the delivery of good architecture and great places. It does this by working with other organisations to achieve a focus on place, architecture and urban design across all aspects of policy and practice.

A&DS is an Executive Non-Departmental Public Body of the Scottish Government. Established in 2005, its work supports the delivery of the Scottish Government's objectives and outcomes.

As a public body, A&DS remit is set out by Scottish Ministers in Creating Places – A Policy statement on architecture and place for Scotland. This includes supporting the creation and renewal of sustainable buildings and places, improving skills and increasing understanding.

The A&DS Corporate Strategy for 2017-2020 outlines their priorities and objectives for the next three years as they look to realise their vision that:

“We live in a Scotland where a well-designed built environment supports sustainable, resilient communities which meet the needs of all.”
