Board Members - Birmingham Royal Ballet

Birmingham Royal Ballet is seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would be interested in joining the Board of Birmingham Royal Ballet. We are looking initially to appoint three new Directors to replace those who reach the end of their term in 2019.

The Board is the governing board of the company. It comprises 11 non executive directors (who are also charitable trustees) with responsibility agreeing the company’s overall mission and strategic and artistic direction, approving its budgets and ensuring its financial resilience, agreeing key policies, including its general treasury and risk management policies and appointing the company’s senior leaders. We are looking for three new board members to replace the current members who reach the end of their term this autumn.

Birmingham Royal Ballet is one of the UK’s leading classical ballet companies and one of the few with a permanent orchestra. From its home in Birmingham it tours extensively around the UK, performing top quality music and dance in towns and cities each year to well over 150,000 people. It has an extensive outreach and education programme and a second company, Freefall, providing opportunities to perform to highly gifted dancers with severe learning difficulties. It receives generous support from the Arts Council and from many private donors, trusts and supporters.
