Working with diverse communities to provide outstanding care’

Bradford District Care NHS FT is a provider of award winning, high quality mental health, community and learning disability services across a diverse district comprising urban and rural Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven. We look after the ‘whole person’, caring for their physical and mental health needs and work with individuals, their carers and our partners to ensure that people get the right care, in the right place with the right support.

We employ 3,000 staff who work for us in a variety of community and hospital roles and our care and clinical expertise is spread over 50 sites. We are recognised as a sector leader on mental health initiatives and we are proud to provide a range of innovative services that have been recognised as best practice nationally.

The healthcare climate we operate in continues to be challenging and our role in the system has never been more important. The last year has seen sustained pressure on NHS services continue, with the need to balance financial challenges and maintain service quality against a backdrop of increased demand. There has never been a more important or compelling time to join our Board and help influence the development of local care services and proactively respond to the changing needs of our community.

We are seeking outstanding individuals who can demonstrate an excellent track record of achievement whether in the public, voluntary or commercial sectors. In addition to your strategic skills and understanding of good governance, we are seeking candidates who offer expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Professional clinical expertise in medical, nursing, allied health or social care disciplines, in primary care, community care or mental health settings.
  • Advocacy/legal expertise related to the rights of individuals and the application of mental health legislation.
  • A track record of operating successfully within complex systems and a demanding regulatory environment.

Successful candidates will offer outstanding ambassadorial qualities and will share our passion for excellence in patient and staff experience. These are board level positions that offer real scope, complexity and challenge and the opportunity to make a difference to the lives of the community we serve.
