Award-winning Charity seeks new Trustees to support transformation and growth
Brighton & Hove Impetus is an award-winning charity that connects people across the city in order to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing. We have a small staff team and over 400 dedicated volunteers. They help people who are lonely or socially isolated because of age, disability or poor mental or physical health. Our staff and volunteers tell us they love that their role gives them the chance to make a difference to others.
We have a strong reputation within the local sector. Our values and ethos provide a firm foundation for achieving the outcomes that service users want and that we are committed to delivering. Like others, we face the challenge of securing sustained funding in a competitive world but we have ambitious plans for change and expansion so we reach more people across the city.
We are seeking an energetic, committed and experienced individual to join our friendly, highly skilled team of trustees. In particular, we are interested in hearing from candidates who have senior level experience of good practice in Business development and process design who can advise the Board and our senior team on preparing products, based on our expertise in social prescribing and befriending, as a source of income and on strengthening our business processes as we grow.
About one day a month – including attending four Board meetings and four Working Group meetings a year; the AGM (in the autumn) and an annual strategy workshop with staff and volunteers. We ask for a minimum commitment of two years.
