Vacancy Type: Trustee
Deadline: 20th December 2018
Region: Nation Wide

Vacancy Details

This is an opportunity to contribute to an organisation which plays a leading role in shaping constructive public discussion about some of the most contested issues in Britain today.

British Future in 2018 is in a strong position, driven by a passionate Director and an engaged Board of Trustees. Our vision is to encourage an open conversation about identity, integration, migration and opportunity. British Future is an independent, non-partisan thinktank which engages with peoples hopes and fears about immigration, integration and identity, seeking to build a broad consensus among the public and opinion-formers for reforms that work for everyone. The organisation's long-term aim is a country where we are no longer ‘Them and Us' but rather a confident and welcoming Britain, inclusive and fair to all.

Three new trustee's are being sought to join a high-calibre Board and Executive Team in developing and executing our strategy.

We are looking to recruit a Trustee from each of the following backgrounds; Governance, Fundraising and Media & Communications with a knowledge of Social Media an advantage but not a necessity. You would be joining a Board of Trustee's from a wealth of backgrounds all with a shared interest in immigration and integration in the UK. Your skills will help British Future continue to grow from strength to strength, both internally and outward facing in it's aims and mission. In keeping with the charitable nature of the organisation's work, the role is unremunerated. Four Trustee meetings are held annually as well as subcommittee meetings and events throughout the year.

Ideal candidates will have experience of playing a strategic leadership role in a complex organisation, and of contributing to non-executive governance. They will have a strong commitment to the aims of British Future. A clear understanding of the principles of good governance, and of the appropriate division between executive and non-executive responsibilities will be key.
