CDS is a social landlord with just under 1,000 homes and is the largest co-operative support agent in London and the South East, providing business and landlord services to 45 co-ops and their 2,200 members.
We want to change the way that we think about housing – with more focus on quality of life and less on property values. Co-op housing - where people run their own homes and work together to keep costs low whilst creating a great neighbourhood – is a proven model but is not widely available in the UK despite its success in other countries. Our goal is to make co-ops a mainstream housing choice across a variety of tenures and prices. We have a unique opportunity to do this by bringing together the best thinking and practice, enabling the design of innovative legal, financial, planning and architectural tools and fostering an environment in which community housing can thrive in the mass market. To create a stable platform for growth in all our areas of work we need to be more efficient and effective - improving services, reducing costs and balancing the books on our contracts.
We are looking for up to 5 Board Members with particular skills in: -
- Business finance;
- Marketing, PR and communications;
- Building development and design;
- Social enterprise and the evaluation of social impact; and
- Talent management and HR.
Our Board provides strategic direction to our business and makes sure we stay on track to deliver our plans. In these roles you will be helping us consider our business strategy, scrutinise performance and ensure we are accountable to our stakeholders. It’s a great opportunity to provide leadership and champion good governance.
