Carers in Hertfordshire - BECOME A TRUSTEE
Since being established by unpaid Carers in 1995, we have built a reputation on high quality services, led by Carers; and for Carers. Our vision is that of a society that sees, understands and values caring and Carers; that Carers are well informed, empowered and respected; and have choice and control over all aspects of their caring role. We are governed by a Board of Trustees and the organisation retains a policy that a majority of Trustees (minimum of 60%) should either be unpaid Carers themselves; have been Carers in the past or likely to be Carers in the future; or have a real empathy with caring roles. We are seeking a number of individuals to become Trustees and who are committed to our purpose, objectives and values.
We invite applicants that can introduce new experiences and perspectives to our current Board and add to the existing variety and diversity of our work. The Board of Trustees is currently under represented in a number of areas and to ensure we are a diverse and responsive organisation we are particularly interested in receiving applications from ethnic minority communities, women, younger adults, people identifying as LGBTQ+, and those who have experience of supporting Young Carers. Whilst we are open to all applicants, we are also particularly interested in hearing from people with strategic management experience in the following areas:
- Property/ estate management/ asset management
- Public relations & communications
- Human Resources
Trustees play a ‘critical friend' role to both our Chief Executive and senior management team and being a Trustee is a rewarding and valuable role. We are looking for passionate, committed and enthusiastic individuals who are invested in unpaid Carers needs and can contribute to the work and development of the organisation. Carers in Hertfordshire are committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of all of our members and all roles are subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
Although this is a voluntary role, reasonable expenses will be covered.
If you are over 18 and interested in applying to become a Carers in Hertfordshire Trustee, our Chair, Slava Budin-Jones, is available to discuss this role further.
Closing date for applications is Monday 25th February 2019 and to request an application pack or request a discussion with our Chair then please email Laura McGrath, PA to Chair & CEO (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Thank you for your interest in this opportunity.
