Cell Therapy Catapult was established in 2012 as a centre of excellence in innovation, with the core purpose of building a world-leading cell and gene therapy industry in the UK. Supported by the UK Governments innovation agency, Innovate UK, our mission is to drive the growth of the industry by helping cell and gene therapy organisations translate early stage research into commercially viable and investable therapies.
As a major new initiative Cell Therapy Catapult’s vision is for the UK to be a global leader in the development, delivery and commercialisation of cell and gene therapy, and a place where businesses can start, and confidently grow.
The Cell Therapy Catapult will achieve this vision by working with partners to address the technical and commercial challenges associated with the development of these exciting, cutting edge treatments. The Cell Therapy Catapult has state of the art facilities in central London and is building a major new manufacturing centre at Stevenage Biocatalyst. With over 100 cell therapy experts spanning, scale up, manufacturing and analytical technologies, clinical trials, regulatory expertise, along with health economics and market access we are executing multiple projects with academia and industry to grow an advanced therapy industry.
The Cell Therapy Catapult is currently changing the future of the cell and gene therapy industry and the Board, Chaired by Dr. John Brown CBE, FRSE, is now seeking to expand its membership and is inviting applications for Board positions. Applications are invited from candidates with relevant experience and in depth knowledge of working with pioneering innovations, technology and life science enterprises. Interested parties should ideally have an exceptional track record in life sciences or a related discipline and bring experience from within private sector and / or public sector organisations. Appointments will be for a three-year term and an average of 10 days per annum
If you are interested in joining our Board and believe you can significantly contribute to the further growth of this UK initiative, then please write in the first instance to Mrs Catrin Gaston-Penny, Head of Human Resources at firstname.lastname@example.org
