Ofcom seeks to appoint a new Chair of Channel 4 Television Corporation (C4C) to guide the organisation through a period of substantial change in the sector.
C4C is a publicly owned, commercially funded broadcaster transmitting across the whole of the UK and available on all digital platforms (terrestrial, satellite and cable). C4C also operates a number of other services, including the free-to-air digital TV channels E4, More4, Film4 and 4seven, and All 4, the free ad-funded video-on-demand service. Film4 co-produces feature films for the UK and global markets.
The C4C Board currently comprises the Chair, eight non-executive members and four executive members.
The ideal candidate will have successfully run, overseen, or been involved in, a significant organisation with a proven track record of strategic planning and leading, preferably during periods of change in a fast moving sector. A strong interest in broadcast media and some experience of the broadcasting industry would be advantageous. Experience of working with Government and Regulators would also be helpful.
