Chair - Cornwall Care Limited

Cornwall Care Limited are looking to appoint a new Chair to provide strategic leadership to the Board. You will have previous executive and non-executive board experience

A not for profit organisation and registered charity, Cornwall Care is the largest independent provider of care in Cornwall. We run and manage 16 care homes providing residential, nursing and dementia care. Our Community Services team (Home Care and Supportive Lifestyles) support hundreds of individuals across the county to live independently in their own homes.

Our highly trained staff of over 1,500 are passionate about their roles and about improving the lives of their clients, regularly going above and beyond to create the best living experiences possible and we are particularly proud of our training and development programme, which focuses on ensuring we provide loving support to all our clients, promoting awareness, safety, individuality and independence.

For all of us, 2020 has been an unprecedented year, with many challenges and events that were unimaginable a year ago; but at Cornwall Care we are immensely proud of the way our staff have pulled together - responding swiftly and effectively to the emergency and ensuring that we were able to continue to deliver the very best - and safest - care to everyone who needed us. While we are not yet out of the woods, we have undertaken significant work to ensure we are well positioned to continue to manage the ongoing pandemic; while also taking the best of the changes, learning and innovation from this period and using it as an opportunity to reset how we do things and explore closer partnership working with our colleagues in health and care.

At this time of huge opportunity and challenge, and as we head towards our 25th Anniversary as an independent organisation, we are looking to appoint a new Chair to provide strategic leadership to the Board. S/he will have previous executive and non-executive Board experience as well as a demonstrable understanding of operating in a regulated sector. More importantly s/he will be able to balance and combine the delivery of our charitable objectives with a commercial approach. Beyond this, s/he will be an inclusive leader with strong communication and influencing skills, excellent judgement and the ability to network for and advocate on behalf of Cornwall Care.
