Trustees – Dementia UK
Organisation: Dementia UK
Reference: Dementia UK
Vacancy Type: Trustee
Deadline: 7th March 2019
Dementia UK provides support to the families of those living with dementia through its Admiral Nursing service. Our highly trained nurses work in communities, hospitals, hospices, care homes and on our National Helpline to provide the expert care families affected by dementia need. They work with families through the toughest of times as well as educating and leading other health and social care professionals to provide improved care. Nationally the Charity is growing fast, already supporting over 270 nurses, and has ambitions to establish sufficient Admiral Nurses to support the families of all 850,000 people living with dementia.
We currently seek to recruit three trustees with commitment to the vision and values of Dementia UK, integrity, strategic vision, good independent judgement and a willingness to contribute to our work with enthusiasm.
In addition we are particularly keen to meet potential trustees who have one of the following skill sets:
- experience and understanding of the clinical aspects of dementia care and policy at a senior level.
- the professional knowledge to strengthen the Board's ability to meet the organisational and people challenges of managing an increasing and geographically spread clinical workforce.
- the contacts, networks and commitment to support and help lead the Charity's efforts in sourcing and maintaining high-level individual and corporate donations.
Trustees meet normally in London and meetings are held at least eight times per year. Trustees are not remunerated but reasonable expenses are paid.
