Non-Executive Director – NHS Blood and Transplant
The Secretary of State for Health is seeking to appoint a Non-Executive Director to NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT). NHSBT is a highly regarded organisation providing essential services to help save and improve the lives of patients across the NHS.
NHS Blood and Transplant is responsible for the provision of a reliable, safe and efficient supply of blood and blood products to hospitals in England and a wide range of related services to the wider NHS. It is also the organ donation organisation for the UK, whose aim is to ensure that organ donation and transplantation in the UK matches the best performance in the world.
Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to operate effectively on the board of a large and complex national organisation. In addition, senior level experience in the fields of external relations/communications is a preferred skill.
Remuneration will be £7,883 per annum for a time commitment of approximately 2 to 3 days per month. The Secretary of State for Health determines the length of appointment, which will be for up to a maximum of four years.
