Non-Executive Director (x2) - Doncaster Children's Services Trust
Salary: £2,000 p.a. plus reasonable expenses
Closing date: Monday, 11 February, 2019
Since the establishment of Doncaster Children’s Services Trust in October 2014 the Trust has worked in partnership with Doncaster Council, our key strategic partner, and other local partners, and in November 2017 its Children’s Social Care Services were rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The last twelve months has also seen the Trust, with the support of the Council and its partners, achieve Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ ratings for its Fostering and Adoption services and two of its children’s homes.
Our ambition for Children and Young People and the Trust does not stop there and, working with Doncaster Council in even closer collaboration, we intend to improve further. We therefore believe that the rapid improvement actions the Trust and its partners have put in place ensures we are on the trajectory to achieve an overall Ofsted ‘Outstanding’.
The Trust provides services across the whole spectrum of children’s social care: Child Protection, Children in Care, Adoption, Fostering, Youth Offending Services, Family Support. We primarily work within the Doncaster Borough but we also work with other children’s services across the country to share our knowledge and experience.
The current governance of the Trust is planned to change from April 2019. We have solid foundations to take us towards Outstanding and our Board have recently agreed ambitious plans to sustain the future of the Trust. We want our Board Members to have a real passion for Doncaster and who can strategically support the Trust to improve the lives of children, young people and families. So, we are particularly keen on these two external NED appointments to be local people who can bring business acumen and expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Company Law
- Human Relations
- Children’s Social Care
