Enfield Council is seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative non-executive director for two of its wholly owned companies. Housing Gateway was established in 2014 and is responsible for the acquisition and management of a property portfolio to provide sub-market accommodation for Enfield residents. Enfield Innovations was also established in 2014 and is focused on developing new, high quality, energy efficient homes for local residents, available at market rent.

Your role will be to work alongside other directors to provide leadership and direction to ensure that decisions taken by the Boards are in the best interests of the Council from a financial and strategic perspective. To do this, you will already have experience of working as an effective member of a board, in the voluntary, private or the public sector.

More specifically, we would expect you to be a commercially and financially astute individual with the ability to make sound judgement and critical appraisal. Ideally, someone with finance/ financial modelling expertise or a blend of housing and finance knowledge would be attractive. However, a financial qualification is not essential.

The anticipated time commitment (in total across both companies) will include board meetings on a weekday evening.

Terms will be for an initial period of 2 years.
