Remuneration: £29,200 per annum (equivalent to £73,000 pro rata). The appointment will be for a period of 3 to 5 years. The majority of the Board and supporting committee meetings will be in the London area, but many are also held regionally.

Vacancy Description

The Chair has a pivotal role in leading the Board, building and maintaining consensus, getting clear strategic objectives and supporting the Executive team in provide independent and objective views on the issues concerning the industry and play a pivotal role in the future of Britain’s energy and processing sectors. This is a great opportunity to join the board of a forward-thinking, cross sector skills organisation.

Person Specification

Key responsibilities of the Chair will be to:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Board, its regional forums and executive team
  • Ensure efficiency of delivery and achievement of objectives
  • Represent the Board and its policies and ensure effective governance and accountability to stakeholders and Government
  • Continue to build on the 20 years of successful delivery by the ECITB

Person Specification:

  • Ability to lead the ECITB Board and to provide strategic direction
  • Commercial and Industry experience at a senior leadership level and accountability
  • Understanding and commitment to the skills needs of industry

Excellence in leadership, communication and negotiation
