Our client is a high growth, professional services SME based in the South East. An existing market leader, they are now embarking on their next stage of growth and as such see this as the right time to appoint a Non Executive Director/Chairman.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Board to set the agenda for and prepare and provide structure at Board Meetings (quarterly)
  • Provide general counsel to the Board and to individual Board members
  • Support, advise and challenge the Board on i) values ii) strategy iii) performance iv) growth and v) financial health
  • Provide additional external contacts and opinions of potentially useful people and organisations

Ideal profile:

  • A proven Non Executive Director/Chairman with demonstrable track record of supporting and enabling sustainable business growth
  • Experience of working with high growth SMEs both as CEO as well as a Non Executive Director/Chairman
  • Owner managed business experience preferable but not essential
  • Professional services experience preferable but not essential
  • Experience of managing change or transition at Board level
  • A supportive, challenging and constructive approach
  • A natural culture fit with the Board members and the values of the company

Time commitment:

  • 15 – 20 days per year
