The Caring Together programme – Eastern Cheshire

Independent Chair of the Programme Board

£25,000 per annum; 2-3 days a month

The Caring Together programme was established in 2013 by the commissioners and providers of health and social care services in Eastern Cheshire as a commitment to working in partnership to radically reshape the delivery of care to our population and improve health outcomes. Caring Together has the potential to dramatically shift the current system from fragmented and reactive, predominantly hospital based care, to proactive and integrated care, provided closer to and wherever possible within a person’s own home.

Our five year transformation plan, developed through extensive and widespread engagement with key stakeholders, including patients, carers, the public, clinicians and wider staff groups, provides the blueprint for whole system transformation, which will transcend the artificial boundaries of organisational form.  Working in a highly collaborative although financially challenged health and care economy, we have reached a pivotal point in our programme and we now need to deliver at pace on our objectives.

We are seeking an inspirational Independent Chair for the Caring Together Programme Board which is comprised of the Chairs and Chief Executives of the health and care partners of Eastern Cheshire together with NHS England and the Trust Development Authority.  A dynamic individual with high levels of political acumen, you will bring a track record of influencing change at Board level in a complex regulatory environment.  Experience of living or working in the area is not a requirement; however you will bring insight into the current issues impacting on the delivery of high quality health and care services and the credibility to build both constructive and challenging relationships with key stakeholders across the patch.  This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader to drive and oversee the transformation of care services for our population, shaping the service of the future today.
