SNOMED International is a high profile not for profit organisation whose purpose is to advance the global standardisation of clinical terminology, uniting health systems from around the world and enabling them to communicate with and understand one another. Established in May 2007 and then adopting the trading name of SNOMED International in 2017, to reflect the evolution to a product and service-oriented organisation, SNOMED International work with their Members and other stakeholders to prioritise the strategic development of SNOMED CT to meet the needs of the healthcare sector.

We are now seeking to recruit talented and a highly experienced Non-Executive Director to join the organisation and drive forward our strategic development. Working closely with the General Assembly and Executive Team, you will have a strong commitment to SNOMED International’s vision and purpose and provide strategic direction, leadership and challenge.

In this role, we are actively seeking individuals from a range of professional backgrounds who have held senior leadership or consultancy positions in either the technology or health sectors globally with particular interest in individuals who can be Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee.

Your role will be to ensure that the organisation fulfils its strategic objectives, whilst always prioritising a commitment to excellent patient care. You will utilise your professional skills and perspective to add value to the governance and strategic development of SNOMED International, holding senior managers to account and offering collaborative challenge and advice.
