Daily rate £375 per day + travel and subsistence. Estimated days per month: 5 working days x 18 months = 90 days.
The Vice Chairperson of the Independent Review Panel will be expected to support the Chairperson and lead elements of the work or deputise for the Chairperson when circumstances or deadlines require. The Vice Chairperson will be expected to be equally capable of setting the pace of work and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including political and community leaders. They will also have a significant contribution to setting the appropriate work plan and establishing priorities for the Review.
They will be expected to draw on personal experience of leading programmes of review, reform or transformation and operating within a contested space and building consensus.
They will be expected to advise on the development of an evidence based assessment of the education system; the barriers, inadequacies, gaps and structural issues; and inform a set of focussed and strategic recommendations.
They will be expected to understand, apply and be committed to the principle of integrity, to be able to work with others in an objective, honest and open manner, transparent in methodology and ways of working, capable of listening to and taking into account a wide range of views and opinions. They will be expected to bring a strong analytical capability to their thinking. They should be cognisant of the educational landscape and political sensitivities. They should be able to work constructively with the Chairperson and Panel members. They should be focussed on building consensus and establishing priorities for education reform.
