Do you have what it takes to influence business performance, oversee ambitious organisational development strategies and – in the process - shape the future of an entire industry?

Then you could fit in perfectly at JTL.

JTL is the principal work-based learning provider to the building services engineering sector, with an excellent track record in apprenticeship delivery and a growing commercial training business. To continue building on our success, we are now recruiting four new Trustees to join our existing Board.

As you might expect, we are looking for dynamic, business-minded individuals who can contribute to the strategic development and direction of the charity. Working closely with your fellow Trustees, you will also use your experience and knowledge to ensure that the wider interests of the industry and its existing and future workforce are met. All applicants must therefore combine generic Board skills and experience with a genuine passion for education and training. Ideally, the new Trustees will have specific skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance - sufficient to sit on our Finance, Audit and Risk Committee
  • An interest in Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding – to become our E&D/Safeguarding Champion
  • Experience of the oil/gas/chemical sector – one of our new Trustees will also sit on the Board of JTL’s subsidiary company, JT Limited, overseeing the CompEx Scheme

Diversity and inclusion are core values at JTL and we welcome applications from all sections of the community to achieve a more diverse Board of Trustees. You must also share our strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. A DBS disclosure will be required.

These influential positions are unpaid but reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed. The role will require a time commitment of approximately 5 – 10 days per annum.

There are 4 positions available.

With informal interviews taking place 26th, 27th October or 4th November and formal interviews for the successfully shortlisted candidates taking place during the week commencing 21st November.
