With our headquarters located in Cambridge, UK, we are a for-profit social venture that helps the mining and minerals sector be part of solutions to Global Challenges like poverty, conflict, and climate change by building sustainable, equitable and prosperous minerals sectors where human rights are protected, biodiversity thrives, and business is conducted responsibly. We work with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver on shared objectives, including national governments, mining companies, standard setters, donor agencies and civil society organisations.
Levin Sources has experienced significant growth and has launched an exciting programme of consolidation, optimisation and prioritisation. We are looking to sharpen our strategic focus, become more resilient, grow our business value, and deepen our impact.
We are looking for exceptional candidates who share our vision and values and have the leadership, strategic thinking and oversight skills to help us expand, evolve, and take our value propositions and brand to the next level.
We particularly welcome applications from candidates from underrepresented backgrounds, including candidates with disabilities, from BAME backgrounds and/or who identify as LGBTQIA+.
Previous experience in the mining and minerals sector is not essential; however, we are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate experience and skills in one or more of these strategic areas:
- Law, corporate finance, corporate governance, strategic accountancy
- Growing company value and resilience
- Business development and the opening up of new markets, including digital product development
- Strategic marketing & sales, with a focus on client relationship processes

- Diversity, inclusion and belonging
- Operating in Europe especially in the context of the UK’s changing relationship with the EU
In addition, experience in any of the following sectors is desirable: mining and minerals supply chains; supply chain management; environment, climate and development; digital for development, including earth observation and supply chain solutions; critical minerals, trade, human rights, and sustainability; UK, European and African politics.
The Board has 6 regular meetings annually, including up to 3 in-person meetings (when it is possible to do so again). The time requirement will therefore be 2-4 hours per month covering formal meetings and informal time plus initially more during induction. These roles are not remunerated but reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
