Treasurer

We are seeking to recruit a trustee who will chair the finance committee and hold the position of treasurer of Lymphoma Action. You will play a key role in advising the board of trustees on financial strategy and management issues. You will oversee the financial affairs of the charity on behalf of the trustees and ensure that it complies with all the legal, constitutional and financial requirements and best practice. The role involves working in partnership with the chair, trustees and senior management team to ensure sound financial planning, providing guidance over budget setting and business plans.

Ideally a qualified accountant, you will have experience of finance strategy preferably within the not-for-profit sector. We would, however, encourage applications from those with appropriate financial experience, such as finance director at board level. You’ll also have experience of chairing well-managed and inclusive meetings, making sure all members’ views are heard.

In this role you will help us effectively manage resources; plan for the long-term as well as the short-term and stay focused on the needs of people affected by lymphoma. Being a trustee is an excellent way to develop your professional skills, improve your CV and gain real experience in strategic planning. It can be a fascinating and rewarding experience, making a valuable contribution to the charity sector.

Advising on strategies to make the best use of limited resources in the fields of influencing decisions and policy at national level, this role will have experience of lobbying, campaigns, advocacy or communications.

A lymphoma clinical nurse specialist to bring the expertise of a healthcare professional with haematology experience. This role will offer guidance and advice to the other members of the board, providing a practical perspective on how our services can support people affected by lymphoma.
