Do you share our passion for cultural heritage and have the skills to help us realise our ambitions?

With a number of Trustees due to retire in March 2021, we are seeking 5 new Trustees to play a key role in our ambitious plans for the future.  We are interested particularly in candidates with experience in finance, hospitality & events, retail, estates and human resources.

As one of the leading museum groups in Europe and a key heritage and culture organisation in Scotland, National Museums Scotland is responsible for a remarkable collection which brings together the arts and sciences, and the cultures of Scotland and the world, alongside the diversity of the natural world.

Combining a passion for sharing the stories of the objects in our care with world-class research and conservation, our work reaches out across Scotland and internationally. Last year we welcomed over 3 million visitors across our four museums, and engaged a wide range of audiences through outreach and imaginative public programming. As a national centre of excellence, we play a leading role in supporting the museum community across Scotland.

The new appointees will join the Board formally on 1 April 2021 and the average time commitment is approximately 9-12 days per annum.
