The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care is looking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA), including an Audit and Risk Committee Chair.

NHSBSA is an Arm’s Length Body of the Department of Health and Social Care. It oversees £36 billion of NHS expenditure each year, delivering a wide range of critical professional and operational national services which support the wider NHS.

To be considered, applicants will demonstrate a career record of achievements of a scale and relevance that demonstrate an ability to operate effectively on the board of NHSBSA. They will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of governance, risk management and financial management.

The NED who will chair the Audit and Risk Committee will require a strong track record of success in a senior financial role within a large, complex organisation in either the private or public sector, with experience of work on audit committees and knowledge of financial legislation and regulatory standards.

Remuneration will be £7,883 per annum for the standard rate, and £13,137 per annum for the position of Audit Chair for a time commitment of two to three days per month. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care determines the length of appointment, which may be for up to a maximum of 3 years.
