Board Members - North East Scotland College
Location: North East Scotland
Closing date: 12 March 2021 at midnight
North East Scotland College (NESCol) is inviting applications to join our Regional Board to help shape plans for the delivery of College education in the North East of Scotland.
NESCol is integral to realising the economic ambitions of our region, anchored in the City and Aberdeenshire with a commitment to shaping the workforce of the future. The College is proud of its long history in serving our traditional industries and excited by the opportunities presented by new and emerging sectors.
An engaging, supportive and inclusive learning environment is at the heart of a College experience designed to give every student the opportunity to fulfil their potential in employment and in life.
The Regional Board is responsible for overseeing the business of the College, determining its strategic direction and fostering a safe environment for learners. Board Members come from all walks of life and from across the Region, contributing their expertise, skills and knowledge together with a broad range of vocational and industry experience. The Regional Board provides the critical foundation for the next phase of the College’s development in response to the longer term impacts of the current pandemic.
Regional Board Members have a vital part to play in enhancing the experience and outcomes of our students as well as driving significant social and economic contributions to the communities and employers the College serves throughout the North East.
NESCol is seeking to appoint Regional Board Members for an initial term of office of up to four years.
To complement the existing skills mix of the Regional Board, applications are particularly welcomed from individuals with professional skills and experience in:
• Local Authority & Public Sector Agencies
• Community and Third Sector Organisations
Members have access to ongoing support and training to assist their development. Applicants do not therefore need to have previous experience of being a member of a board.
The post is voluntary and non-remunerated, however relevant expenses will be reimbursed.
If you are seeking an opportunity to contribute to the future success of our Regional College and to the social and economic wellbeing of the North East, we would love to hear from you.
