Scottish Housing Regulator – Board member appointments
Join the Scottish Housing Regulator (SHR) to protect and promote the interests of tenants and others who use social housing services, such as people who may be homeless and Gypsy/Travellers. Due to retirement Scottish Ministers would like to appoint two new Board members to complement the existing SHR Board team.
The Board sets the Regulator's strategic direction and ensures it is focuses on key priorities to meet its statutory objective. SHR is an independent regulator that reports directly to the Scottish Parliament. You will help SHR implement its new Regulatory Framework and corporate plan priorities.
We want people from diverse backgrounds. In particular we are seeking:
- a current tenant or someone who lives in social housing in Scotland; and
- someone with experience of housing service provision at a strategic & senior level.
We want both people to be able to work within a team, have strong communication skills and be able to challenge constructively. You do not need previous board level experience.
Appointments are based on meeting the skills required and these are described in more detail in the application pack.
Scottish Ministers particularly welcome applications from groups currently under-represented on Scotland's public bodies, such as women, ethnic minorities and people aged under 50. They would also encourage applications from those with personal experience of having a disability arising from a physical or mental impairment.
Appointed on merit: committed to diversity and equality
