Here at Southern Co-op, we’re currently seeking a new Non Executive Board Member to join us.
We are a co-operative business operating for the benefit of our members and, as such, our core purpose is to work together for the benefit of our communities. Our ability to fulfil our social responsibilities depends on sustainable commercial success and so our Board of Directors have established a number of Sub-Committees. This gives directors the ability to consider specific issues and ensure proper scrutiny and accountability of our activities. We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our Audit Committee.
The Board of Directors are elected from our membership on a ‘one member one vote’ direct election basis. We’re looking for an independent member who will be key to the delivery of effective governance, assurance, risk management and statutory financial duties. The successful candidate will provide expert, impartial knowledge and perspective to the committee, having gained relevant experience whilst in a financial role within a complementary, non-competing business.
