The Ethical Investment Advisory Group of the Church of England - Chair
The Ethical Investment Advisory Group provides advice on ethical investment matters to the three Church of England National Investing Bodies or ‘NIBs’ (i.e. the Church Commissioners, Pensions Board, and the church funds managed by CCLA Investment Management) which collectively manage assets worth more than £12bn. The EIAG is the authoritative voice for distinctly Anglican ethical investment policy advice. Its remit covers a huge variety of ethical investment issues, from alcohol and corporate tax, to the ethics of different asset classes or sectors, through to cutting edge AI technology and human rights.
Bishop David Walker has been chairing the Board on a transitional basis, and we are now looking for a new Chair. This is an unusual and exciting opportunity to lead and convene impactful applied Christian thinking that spans the fields of ethics, theology, social affairs, business and investment.
Clarity of thought, skill in judgment and an ability to navigate complex and sensitive issues are all essential qualities. We are keen to talk to people with senior executive or non-executive experience gained in a relevant field such as investment and/or finance, a major business, or a missional activity. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are comfortable with the mission and goals of the Church of England.
