Making a Better Future, Together
Together Housing Group welcomes applications for new Board Members at a particularly exciting time for our organisation. In April 2016, we created Together Housing Association Limited, combining the resources, talent and potential of all of our constituent members in a move that marks a new era for social housing across the North. This new model creates exciting opportunities to initiate, drive and deliver sustainable change right across the north of England, and on a considerable scale. We currently manage just under 40,000 homes, and our footprint stretches from the east to the west coast, throughout Lancashire and Yorkshire and as far south as Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
We’ve already achieved so much. In the last five years, we’ve built more than 1,750 homes, invested more than £500 million in existing assets, and invested another £8.7 million into regeneration projects. It is part of our clear vision for 2020: to offer customers consistently brilliant services, put social impact at the heart of what we do and be a great place to work. We are a key player in the North of England and the Together Board is committed to grow the organisation through mergers and development. It is projected that we will increase our current programme of over 500 new homes a year with a mixture of home ownership options and affordable rent, through innovative funding packages and working with private sector partners.
The future is full of promise for Together Housing. Joining the Board, you will help to set and oversee the strategic direction, ensuring that effective business plans, budgeting and performance management frameworks are in place. You will be a clear thinker, a confident communicator, work collaboratively and build strong relationships between the Board and the Leadership Team and across the Group.
This is a time of considerable change within the housing sector, marked by a shift in the dynamic between social purpose and business focus – so we’re keen to attract Board Members with strong commercial skills. Housing experience is not a requirement, though you’ll identify with our vision and values – we want to engage individuals with skills and experience from other sectors and backgrounds that can complement the Board’s existing experience. As we explore opportunities to become more financially independent in the future, we’re looking for individuals with expertise in finance, risk and audit. Track records in areas such as finance, commercial property development, procurement or strategic asset management are particularly relevant. The range is broad and we’re open to fresh thinking, ideas and ways of working. In fact, we’re inspired by them.
Together, we think we can change how social housing builds for the future.
