About us

Transport for London (TfL) is one of the world’s best known and most successful integrated transport authorities. In just 20 years, TfL has gained global respect for its innovative and progressive approach to the identification of customer needs, delivery of high-quality service and use of mutually beneficial partnerships to maximise stakeholder and consumer value for money. We now play a key role in London’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Continuing to spend our investment funding wisely and efficiently is key to becoming financially sustainable and the Mayor of London’s Independent Investment Programme Advisory Group (IIPAG) plays a role in that. IIPAG provide independent assurance and expert advice concerning TfL’s Investment Programme. This includes all renewal, upgrades and major projects, and operational issues and the delivery of the Elizabeth Line.

We’re now looking to appoint additional members of IIPAG following a review of skillsets and their remit being widened to include Crossrail.

About the opportunity

As a Member of IIPAG, you will help Transport for London on the journey back to financial sustainability. TfL’s Investment Programme is based around the key priorities described in the Mayor’s Transport Strategy (published in June 2017) and in the newly published Financial Sustainability Plan.

Our capital programme is delivering the infrastructure that London needs through ensuring our assets are safe and fit for purpose, ensuring improvements to air quality are achieved, promoting active travel, and by increasing capacity on our New Tube for London Programme, the extension of the Northern Line and ensuring the Elizabeth Line is completed.

IIPAG considers issues of economy, efficiency and value for money in preparing its assurance and advice. As a member of IIPAG you will provide independent, third line assurance on projects and programmes with a value of over £50m. You’ll constructively challenge and provide strategic input on a broad range of matters affecting our programmes, including external market forces. You will also deliver cross cutting reviews on key topics that affect the investment programme which provide powerful recommendations and far-reaching advocacy of best practice.

As an IIPAG Member, you’ll help us drive a forward-looking agenda to maximise efficiency, effectiveness and value for money of our major Investment Programmes. You’ll help London to thrive for years to come.
