Fundraising – Trustee role
TREAT ME KIND International is an animal protection charity, working to end cruelty to animals in the UK and Internationally. We help to raise awareness about animal cruelty, neglect and suffering through education and promoting humane treatment to animals.
Our vision is a world where every animal is treated with compassion, respect and dignity.
The day to day management of the TMKI is carried out by a small team, led by the Chief Officer, currently based in West Sussex.
As a UK registered charity, we have a management committee and a board of trustees which meets quarterly and includes honorary advisors. Board meetings are held in Portsmouth every 3-6 months. We are looking for an additional Trustee with fundraising experience to join our charity.
The Board of Trustees has ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of TMKI, ensuring it is solvent, well-run and delivering its objects, as detailed in the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
We are seeking a motivated individual with a substantial background in charity fundraising experience, particularly in Philanthropy, or Trusts & Foundations or Individual Giving. We are keen to hear from individuals who want to grow their Board experience.
Your role will be to work with the Board and team to drive the work of our Fundraising and Communications to ensure that it brings the necessary governance to these areas of the charity's work.
Contribute actively to the Board of Trustees' role in giving strategic direction to the charity, setting overall strategy and policy, setting targets and evaluating performance against agreed targets;
- Ensure the financial stability of the organisation and the proper investment of the Charity's funds;
- Ensure the Charity applies its resources exclusively in pursuing its objectives;
- To have a sound understanding and experience of charity fundraising at strategic and operational levels;
- Bring overall leadership and drive as the Fundraising Trustee
This post is voluntary and unpaid position. We would expect approximately 5-6 days per year an attendance at all Board of Trustee meetings (half a day, every 3-6 months).
If you would like to apply or have any further questions about the position, then please email to email@example.com your CV and a supporting statement, setting out why you would like to join the Board.
