Non-Executive Director / Member
Time commitment 8-25 days per annum - £3,500 - £15,000 salary
The VOA is an executive agency of HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC). We provide crucial property and land valuation advice to government to support national and local taxation and benefits. Our valuations enable the collection of around £50 billion in local taxation alone from our business rates and council tax work. VOA also provides many other statutory and non-statutory valuations and provides property advice and a range of supporting valuation services to the public sector.
We are in a period of radical transformation, which includes delivery of major policy changes, full modernisation of our IT and digital infrastructure and a significant transformation to our office estate, all to be completed by 2020. This is all to be achieved against the backdrop of public sector austerity and financial constraint. These are exciting times as we enter into new territory and challenge ourselves to continue to deliver improved services for our customers.
We are looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director / Member of the VOA Board to constructively challenge and contribute to the development of our strategy and scrutinise the performance of management in delivery of our agreed goals / objectives. One of these Non-Executive Directors will also chair the VOA Audit and Risk Assurance Committee. We are very open to the kind of background that you will bring to this opportunity; we are looking for a balance on our Board, however key areas of priority for us include digital, customer focus, risk and audit and continuous improvement. We are also looking for a Non-Executive Member of our Audit and Risk Committee.
If the challenge of change and making a contribution is an attractive one and you feel you can add value, we look forward to hearing from you.
