The Shepherds Friendly Society is a modern broadly based financial services organisation with currently over 83,000 members in the UK.  In business for over 100 years, the Society has transformed itself from a traditional insurance provider, whilst still maintaining all the traditions of mutuality.

We are now seeking to appoint a business focussed Non-Executive Director from the financial services industry with board level experience. Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified accountants.

You should demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the requirements of the new SIMR regime. Your time commitment will be an average of 30 days per year including attendance at Board meetings in Manchester and an appropriate director’s fee will be paid.

The appointment is subject to approval by the Financial Conduct Authority & the Prudential Regulatory Authority and a vote by the Society’s membership at the Annual General Meeting later in the year.
