The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult was established in 2012 as a centre of excellence in innovation, with the core purpose of building a world-leading cell and gene therapy industry in the UK. Supported by the UK Governments innovation agency, Innovate UK, our mission is to drive the growth of the industry by catalyzing the translation of early stage research into commercially viable and investable therapies.
The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult’s vision is for the UK to be a global leader in the development, delivery and commercialisation of cell and gene therapy, and a place where businesses can start, and confidently grow.
The Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult will achieve this vision by working with partners to address the technical and commercial challenges associated with the development of these exciting, cutting edge treatments. We have state of the art facilities in central London, a 70,000 sqft Manufacturing Centre at Stevenage Biocatalyst and we recently announced the creation of a Manufacturing Innovation Centre to be located in Braintree. With over 240 cell and gene therapy experts spanning, scale up, manufacturing and analytical technologies, clinical trials, regulatory expertise, along with health economics and market access We are executing multiple projects with academia and industry to grow an advanced therapy industry in the UK.
Since its inception the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult has made significant progress and is now recognised globally as a leader in its field. The Board of the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult is now seeking to refresh its membership due to retirements. Interested parties should have an exceptional track record in life sciences or medicine and bring
experience from within private and/or public sector organisations. In particular. we are seeking to replace one role with expertise in finance, IP management and licensing, and one in the assessment and regulation of ATMPs and their clinical trials.
Appointments will be for a three-year term in the first instance and the expected time commitment will be an average of 10 days per annum
