Location: London
Date Posted: 24/09/2020
Closing Date: 24/10/2020
Haringey Community Benefit Society (HCBS) is an exciting new start up focussed on providing rental homes for households who find it difficult to buy or rent on the open market.
We have had a successful first year of operation, acquiring in excess of 100 homes rented to people in the greatest need of housing. We have ambitious plans to grow and a pipeline of properties to add to our portfolio.
We are now looking to recruit new members to join our board of management as independent non-executive directors of the company.
You should ideally:
- Live, work or be connected in some way with the borough of Haringey
- Have no connection with Haringey Council or Homes for Haringey
In addition, we are looking for people who have experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Housing property management
- Tackling homelessness
- General business management skills
- Living in social housing
We want our board of management to reflect the communities we exist to serve. We, therefore, welcome and encourage applicants from minority groups.
The role is not paid but we will reimburse reasonable expenses and also provide a range of training opportunities to help you grow in the role and develop skills.
The board meets four times per year. Preparing for, and attending virtual meetings of the board represents a time commitment of at least 12 hours per year.
For more information and expressions of interest in the role please contact Puneet Rajput, Company Secretary at governance@haringeycbs.co.uk
