Non-Executive Director – Restaurants – Finance Background
Position: Non-executive
Commitment: 2 days a month
Salary: Negotiable
We are currently working with a small restaurant group, who have had consistent growth and are now trading at circa £20 million. As they embark on the next stage of their journey, they are keen to appoint an experienced Restaurant Executive to guide, mentor and advise. The CEO and CFO have ambitious plans for growth and are looking to double turnover within 2 years. The concept is fresh seasonal and stylish and very adaptable within new locations and settings. While they have created a replicable model, they are keen to retain the individuality in each business as well as the quality product.
The position and individual:
This position is aimed at experienced Non-Executives, with extensive experience in the hospitality Sector. The business is specifically looking for someone with much larger experience as well as experience moving a business in a listed position, for example AIM or London stock exchange. The incoming NED will need to have strong knowledge of seeking funding, delivering quick growth and brand rollout as well as personal experience of their journey taking a small business into a listed market. You will support and mentor the CEO and CFO, Chair the Audit Committee and work with the greater board which includes previous investors. The business is hoping to find someone that can share their passion for the business and enjoys working in a supportive capacity as well as someone that can commit long term.
Essential Criteria includes:
- Previous NED, chair, trustee or committee experience
- Currently holding or have held a CFO position, in a medium to large branded restaurant / food business / retail business
- Fully Qualified Accountant
- Extensive knowledge of pivoting and developing brands though changing circumstances
- Previous experience working on or chairing an Audit committee is ESSENTIAL
- Strong knowledge of the UK hospitality market
- MUST HAVE experience listing a business, for example AIM or London Stock exchange. (this is a non-negotiable criteria for this search)
- Strong understanding of investor relations would be ideal
Additional desirable experience:
- Experience in mentoring and coaching
