Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was one of the first, and is now one of the UK’s biggest, busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a complete range of hospital and community services for the people of Sheffield, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield. Our 17,800 staff work both out in the community and in five of Yorkshire’s best-known teaching hospitals and we have a long history of providing high quality care and clinical excellence as well as an international reputation for innovation in health research. The Trust is one of only a small number in the NHS which is rated Good or Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission in all of the domains of Safe, Caring, Responsive, Effective and Well Led.

We have a strong tradition of clinical and scientific achievements and through our partnerships with the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and industry we ensure we remain at the forefront of advancements in clinical services, teaching and research. Equally important to us are the partnerships we have forged with local people, patients, neighbouring NHS organisations, local authorities and charitable bodies. Hence, we will continue to be a strong contributor to the aspiration of Sheffield to be a vibrant and healthy city region and will continue to play a major role in all relevant city and regional partnership initiatives.

The Opportunity

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has been a challenge for all healthcare providers but it has also been an opportunity to innovate and re-imagine the future of how we deliver care for the many thousands of people we serve.

Never has there been a more important, and we believe exciting, time to join our Trust and be part of shaping this new era for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Essential to success will be a strong alignment with our PROUD values, a positive focus on delivering improved population health through collaboration with all sector partners and a commitment to achieving our ambition of being recognised as the best provider of health, clinical research and education in the UK.
