Non-Executive Director - Tullis Russell
Tullis Russell is an independent, private, employee-owned specialist coating manufacturing group. It operates three manufacturing plants in Bollington (Cheshire), Ansan (South Korea) and Weihai (China) with distribution facilities in several countries. The group currently has a turnover of £42m and employs 209 people.
The board is comprised of three non-executive directors (including the non-executive chairman) and three executive directors (finance and company MDs) and is now seeking to recruit a new non-executive director to replace a recently retired NED.
He/she will hold/have held a senior executive position (preferably with experience at the CEO level) and will have sufficient main board or subsidiary board experience to provide a good awareness of current corporate governance issues and will have a good grasp of financial decision-making at a strategic level. Previous experience as a non-executive director will also be beneficial.
A background in sales & marketing would be preferrable and his/her experience will include solid commercial experience in a dynamic business preferably in a related sector or process manufacturing business with an international dimension. Experience in new/developing markets, acquisitions, new business and product development activities would all be relevant to this position as would experience of Asian markets, particularly China.
A commitment to promoting/maintaining the values associated with employee ownership would also be critical to anyone undertaking this role.
It is expected that he/she will commit to up to 20 days per annum with some overseas travel involved (at least one board meeting per annum in South Korea).
