Non-Executive Director, Chairman of Audit Committees - £25k-£30k pa (24 days)
Kinnell Holdings Group - including Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd (PRA regulated) and
Warranty Services Ltd (FCA regulated)

The core business of this small group of integrated businesses is the provision of “home improvement consumer protection”, including post completion warranty protection, together with providing services to UK home improvement contractors, with home owners being the ultimate policy holders. Our vision is to ensure that the group operates on a prudential and strong basis delivering customer service with integrity and honesty through a trained group of loyal staff, with due regard to risk / regulatory / compliance / legal requirements. We are a market leader in our field with an ethos of tailoring specific solutions to suit clients’ requirements rather than selling existing “one size fits all” products.

Guarantee Protection Insurance Ltd (GPI) is a UK based insurance company, regulated by the PRA and FCA. Operating from our head office in Ayr in the West of Scotland (within easy reach of both Glasgow and Prestwick airports), we provide niche insurance products which service approximately 3 million policy holders.

The Kinnell Group is developing its forward looking Strategic Plan and as part of this sees many opportunities to build on its niche / specialist expertise, but to expand more broadly into niche General Insurance markets, through acquiring and / or seeking the mandate for books of business. As part of this forward looking plan the Board is now seeking to recruit a high calibre Non-Executive Director of suitable experience to complement the existing skills within the Group Management Board. The successful candidate will be expected to bring an independent judgement to the affairs of the Board as well as extensive experience at Board or Senior Management level, preferably within a regulated environment. The time commitment is in the order of 24 days per year including 1 day a month for Board / Committees in Ayr and London. Salary £25,000-£30,000 per annum.

The Board is keen to receive applications from anyone meeting the competencies outlined above but would especially welcome applicants who have experience in finance or actuarial disciplines engaged within a Carrier in the pricing and risk assessment of General Insurance product sets, in a Solvency 2 regime. The Businesses have an especially strong Risk, Audit and Compliance culture, yet are small enough to retain the key family and entrepreneurial spirit that has seen Warranty Services Limited previously awarded fastest growing Scottish SME.

Applicants should send their CV together with a covering letter by using the 'Apply' button.
