Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is seeking three non-executive directors

We’re looking for three non-executive directors to join our Trust as a member of our unitary Board. Working alongside other non-executives, the Chair of the Trust, and the executive directors, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills, knowledge and expertise to direct the work of our Trust.

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a dynamic, forward-thinking and successful organisation serving the communities of Leeds and more widely in the Yorkshire and the Humber region, with some specialist services being provided nationally. We work to provide the best services we can for our service users which includes working in partnership across organisational boundaries at a local level and within Integrated Care Systems.

We are looking to recruit three non-executive directors to our Board of Directors offering you the opportunity to improve health outcomes for our population now and in the future. Applicants must have the intellect and strategic ability to contribute actively to the Board of a large public sector organisation which operates in a complex environment, and they will bring a passion for mental health and learning disability services.

We operate in diverse and vibrant cities and welcome applications from a wide diversity of applicants including: people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds; people with protected characteristics; and those with experience or a demonstrable understanding of issues faced by those living with mental health problems and or learning disabilities

We will also provide development opportunities and support with carrying out the role where these have been identified through the appraisal and personal development programme.

  • Post one: Applicants must have an understanding of the complex environment in which the NHS operates including cross-boundary working to ensure quality of care for all our service users. Specifically, applicants must have recent experience in a senior role with a demonstrable track-record within clinical governance and / or have a clinical background. They must be able to supportively challenge the quality agenda within the Trust and will be the chair of the Trust’s Quality Committee. (This position will be available from Spring 2022)
  • Post two: Applicants must have an understanding of the complex environment in which the Trust operates including cross-boundary working to ensure the development of our services internally and also at system and Place level. Specifically, applicants will have recent experience at a senior level within a complex commercial business / third sector / non-public sector organisation with a knowledge of fostering partnership working to create opportunities to enhance the services we provide. Applicants should have experience of working in complex organisations, or of working with numerous partners. (This position will be available from Autumn 2021)
  • Post three: Applicants must have an understanding of the complex environment in which the Trust operates including cross-boundary working to ensure we work with partners to provide opportunities to support the development of our current and future staff. Specifically, applicants will have recent experience at a senior level within a higher education environment. Applicants should have experience of working in complex organisations, or of working with numerous partners. (This position will be available from Spring 2022)

Remuneration is currently £12,939 per annum and is subject to an annual review.

Expected time commitment is a minimum of 2 ½ days and up to 4 days if a chair or member of a Board sub-committee plus some time for reading and meeting preparation.
