Non-Executive Director - Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust are seeking to recruit a Non-executive Director with senior level clinical experience.

Ashford & St Peter’s are proud of our hospitals, our staff and the quality of the care we provide to our patients. We believe we are in a good position to meet the challenges facing the NHS based on our strong quality of care and financial performance, and our inclusive approach to working across our local health economy.

This is an exciting time to join the Board at Ashford and St Peter’s. We have faced a challenging period for the NHS in responding to COVID-19, with the demand for our services progressively increasing, while the funding position is even more stretched. However, COVID-19 has also provided a platform for change and innovation and we have introduced a new operating model that will let us continue to respond to the COVID pandemic whilst bringing our other clinical services back on line.

Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust operates from two main hospital sites in North West Surrey, with our 4,800 staff providing services to a population of over 380,000 living in the boroughs of Runnymede, Spelthorne, Woking and parts of Elmbridge, Hounslow, Surrey Heath and beyond.

We are seeking an exceptional individual with a proven track record of working clinically in a senior leadership role. You should bring experience and skills that would enable you to work at Board level, in a large, complex organisation, as you will be expected to have had experience of leading within a governance structure. Ideally we are looking for a candidate with clinical experience to complement our talented board and we would particularly welcome applications from doctors.

We have a preference for local candidates who have a commitment to supporting the local health economy but welcome applicants from neighbouring counties or London who would provide a complementary perspective.

We particularly welcome applications from female, BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) or disabled candidates to strengthen the diversity of our Board.

  • Virtual Open Evening 27 July 2020
  • Closing date for applications 10 August 2020
  • Interview date 21 September (via Microsoft Teams)
