The Angel CoFund (ACF) is a well-established and rapidly growing £100 million venture capital fund. The portfolio currently comprises investments in close to 100 companies, all made alongside business angels and private investors. The fund is a UK focused generalist investor, with a portfolio weighted towards high growth technology companies. Beyond a clearly stated commercial objective, the strategic aim of the fund is to support high potential and innovative UK based companies and further develop the capital market for angel investment.

Following the retirement of a founder Board member we are now looking for a new non-executive to join an existing highly committed group of Directors who exemplify the highest standards of corporate governance and have extensive venture capital knowledge. The role of a Board member requires commitment whilst offering a truly rewarding experience to engage with an organisation with clear goals to deliver investor returns and support the growth of SMEs through venture capital angel investment across the UK.

The Person

• Must demonstrate the desire and ability to understand and uphold the aims of ACF and work collaboratively to achieve these in a clear and transparent way.
• Will have a significant career history of working within the venture capital and private equity sectors with experience of being involved in strategic decision making at a senior level.
• Will have a good understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by investing in early stage, high-growth companies.
• Should be keen to help support the ACF strategically to achieve its aims and offer provide a fresh perspective on the challenges and opportunities encountered.

Individuals will be appointed for a term of three years and be required to attend four meetings per year.
