Chair - Muir Group

Recruiter: Muir Group
Location: Nationwide
Salary: £11,616
Posted: 26 Nov 2020
Closes: 04 Jan 2021
Job Function: Chair
Industry: Not-For-Profit, Housing / Regeneration

Muir Group owns and manages more than 5,500 homes across the country, in over 30 local authority areas. Our teams help people with their housing needs and create neighbourhoods where communities can flourish. We employ over 130 people in a variety of roles and have also been awarded the coveted Gold accreditation by Investors in People. Predominantly based in the North West, Muir's Chester HQ is supported by offices in Blackpool, Burnley, and Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire.

We are now looking for a highly experienced and capable individual to take on the key role of Group Chair. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants the opportunity to make a positive difference to people's lives. It’s a vital leadership role within the organisation: ensuring that the Group Board operates effectively; working closely with the Executive Leadership team to monitor organisational performance; and ensuring customers’ best interests are central to all we do. And you’ll play a vital external role too, acting as an ambassador for the organisation and our work, and helping to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.

There is a great deal going on within the Group currently. A new corporate strategy is in development and we are investing in our housing development capacity. We are also exploring how we can make better use of digital technology to improve how we engage with and support our customers. We’re steadily building a reputation that is founded on sound governance and strategic decision-making, effective financial management, and a highly talented and committed workforce. You can help us build on these strengths.

You could come from any professional discipline, where you will have honed impressive leadership skills and the ability to draw on the expertise and contribution of others to build consensus behind strategic decisions.
