University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the country. We have over 13,000 staff providing care across 48 specialties, spanning five hospitals (including one of the biggest Trauma and Orthopaedics Specialties in the country and Children’s services at both Derby and Burton Hospitals) which care for more than one million patients each year and serves a population of a similar size across South Derbyshire, South East Staffordshire and beyond.
The Trust has five hospitals across the region, with the largest being the Royal Derby Hospital and the second largest being Queen’s Hospital Burton, covering the historic Peak District, Southern Derbyshire and East Staffordshire. Our Community Hospitals are Sir Robert Peel Community Hospital in Tamworth, Samuel Johnson Community Hospital in Lichfield and London Road Community Hospital in Derby. In addition, we have staff at four other clinical sites across Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
We are searching for a new Non-Executive Director to join to our Trust Board. The remuneration for Non-Executive Director post at the Trust is £13,000 per annum. Mileage and other expenses are payable in line with the Trust’s Policy.
Time commitment will be four days a month but other than attendance at meetings (including Trust Board meetings) much of this commitment will be flexible.
Whilst it is anticipated that most applicants may hold a portfolio of part-time appointments, the Trust is open to receiving applicants in full-time employment who may be able to fit in Non-Executive Director commitments with those of their employer.
